Cool When will I remember?!

Thought I'd be smart this year. Every Christmas I make pjs for the grands. DD called the end of October needing to know how much flannel to buy (It was special!) to ship to me to make the DGS's and his dad matching pj pants (It's a big thing in his world) this spurred me to buy the flannel for the other three. Since I figured I'd missed the sale at Fabricland, I went to Fabric.com and ordered. Smart right? They delivered quickly (3 days!) and I didn't have to go into the store. I'd even splurged and bought enough to make the DGS a pj top too since I'd seen the same fabric as DD purchased.
BUT.... I forgot to check the pattern requirements. Did mention that all the fabric save one was directional?
I was at least 1 meter(yard) short for every.... single... one.... And the one fabric is now on backorder.
So I contacted my local Len's Mill Store... they have something very similar for one DGD. OK I already cut out the pj pants from the original fabric.....
DGS - the one who started this - doesn't like the buttoned pj tops so I now have too much Mandalorian flannel....
DGD (his sister) is getting something similar instead of the fabric I'd showed her mom....
Other DGS - well he is getting the pjs I'd set out to make... but the fabric for the top is being shipped....
And the other DGD - the one who is six (6) feet tall at 13 YOA.... I'm praying I can squeeze her pjs out of what I have... but I'm also looking for: something complimentary.... or something that's a knit in the background colour (purple) that won't cost an arm and a leg.... or I'll just see what Len's and Fabricland have that is similar enough since ... yes she picked the fabric....
sigh.... and once more I have twice as much fabric as I need. No wonder I can't reduce my stash....

Maybe time to think about colour blocking in a complimentary colour?

Happened to me this year--ordered all special print fabrics for pillowcases for grans, from different vendors. All was well until I realized one print was cut short of a yard ! Ugh, was able to do a work around but now have extra fabric of one of the prints. Maybe make a small bag and a scrunchie, if i have time ! I feel for you !

Oh, My! This sounds way too familiar for me! I do this very often, too. And the grandsons seem to be spouting since I've last seen them.
