Default applique

I am making a baby quilt adding some applique want to know should I sew around the raw edge applique even it I am planning on doing edge to edge machine quilting?

I would. Especially on a baby quilt. They have a tendency to be washed alot due to spit up and trying to keep them clean.

I also would sew around the appliqués to limit them lifting.

I always sew around raw edge applique, either with a blanket stitch or a straight stitch, quilts and wall- hangings.

Yes, your appliqués need to be sewn before quilting. Your edge to edge quilting might hold down some but all the institched edges will come loose

I always sew the applique before quilting. I don't do a lot of applique right now but that is what I would do.
