Wink New idea for backs...big blocks!

So I had another Ah Ha moment the other day. I was gifted several panels. Perfect for Project Linus. Tryling so hard to use up my stash. So for backs I'm making larger blocks. I'm taking an "odd" fat quarater or chunk of fabric and turing it into a LARGE log cabin block. OMG>>>so cute. Lights/darks jellies are flyilng out of my sewilng room.

For larger quilts just may make several over sized blocks. Tthis seems a great idea to use up stash and make a pretty back. Next back just may be over sized 9 patch!!!

Just don't ask your longarmer to try and center them when it gets quilted

MKC, I use this idea only for smaller quilts. I know centering is always an issue.

I want to make a queen sized spread for our bed using my collection of Thimblebox fabrics. Don't want to use a bedskirt so it will have to be quite large to cover the mattress and box spring. I plan on using 12 inch finished squares as I have seen pictures of these kind of blocks for spreads/quilts. The only issue is quilting it as I do my own on FMQ on my Janome, but I have done one that large before so I will get it done (I hope).

I made a backing from big blocks before and my LA friend suggested I make a wonky layout with them for the back. It was fun to not have anything line up on purpose.
