Default How do I??

Hi everyone hope you’re all doing well. I am interested in having a cute little quilt label for my sister’s first great granddaughter. I have already made the quilt but can’t seem to find just a small embroidered label that has her name, birthdate and a cute heart. Normally I print the baby picture on the label but I’m having a bit of a problem with my printer. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? I would really appreciate it. I’m posting a picture of the quilt so you have an idea of what I’m working with. TIA

Normally, I would suggest designing the label on your computer and then print, making it the small to fit the corner of the quilt but without a printer that is not an option. I always write mine by hand with a good fabric pen. Is that an option for you?

Guess I'd draw what I want on a 3.5" muslin square using a Micron pigma pen. They come in colors besides black.

I would heat set the siggy after a bit too. just in case. i used Micron Pens .05 size for years and the signatures are still fine on quilts i made from around the world. keep looking though. I"m sure there are places online that do signatures to order.

I don’t see a picture of what you’re working with, as you say. Do you machine embroider? If so I may can put your wording together for you. Let me know.

Toogie, no I don’t embroider. As I believe I said I used to print out my labels but currently I’m not able to do that my printer is just putting out clean sheets. Also I tried several times to attach the picture of the quilt but it wouldn’t let me I don’t know what the problem was.

Maria, sometimes the pic needs to be resized. If you’re sending from an IPhone I know how to resize it. When you choose the picture at the bottom it will say Actual Size . Click that and it will say small mad or large. Medium or large is usually enough for the right size for me. If you’re sending from another phone maybe someone else can help….Also, a common mistake people forget to do is hit the UPLOAD button after choosing your picture.

Has it been a while since you printed anything out? My printer heads on the ink dry up if I haven't used mine for a while and I get nothing. I do keep an extra set of ink cartridges on hand so I can replace. I recently asked my printer to print in color. Nope, totally dried up. Do you have an alphabet in your sewing machine or any decorative stitches? I used to make my own labels before I had a machine that embroidered. And of course, you could always hand embroider the info on the label. Or maybe you could find a cute fabric in your stash that has a clear enough space to write the info with a permanent pen?
