Gues what I just got as an early Christmas present! Quilt Design wizard. I have been playing around with it and found it does not have a lap quilt selection. Does anyone know what the standard size for a lap quilt is? I know I can design one by using the customize feature I just don't know what size to shoot for.

    Thanks

I do not know about the standard, but I have been making them customized for the recipient. Some are a bit longer and/or wider than others..... I am making them big enough so they can use them when they want to lay on the couch and be covered chin to toes, lol.
I think it also depends on the quilt block design, some I am thinking about making need a specific amount of blocks to complete the design and so they may come out a little bigger, also.

I've never made a lap quilt, but I have seen the pre-cut batting for sale in
Hancocks of Paducah which measure 60 x 60. This is a 5 foot square which sounds about right to me, unless the recipient has a really large lap. LOL. Hope this helps....Mary

Thank you! That is a great link to add to my ever growing list for quilting sites. I got a Fons & Porter quick reference card and they didn't list it, but now I have the great list on the site.
