Hi all, A bit about myself I'm a grandmother soon to be great-grandmother. I live in a small town, enjoy quilting, knitting, organic gardening and reading. I also raise cornsnakes, rats, mice and hamsters. I have 12 cornsnakes, 1 corn x king hybrid, a crested gecko, 3 colonies of rats, 3 of mice and one hamster colony, three cats and a dog. No partridge in a pear tree.

Welcome to our quilting family. You will just love it here. Everyone is really talented and friendly. Please post pics, we all just love to see the talent of others.
Sounds like you have quite a few pets. I personally couldn't stand to have the snakes, mice and rats around me. I don't like mice.
Glad that you decided to join us.

I raise cornsnakes because they are fascinating creatures, they don't bark, pee on the floor or require a litter box. Cornsnakes are docile get about 5' and 2 lbs. They are just amazing creatures. As a hobby they are very widespread the forum I'm on for cornsnakes is very active people posting all day from around the world.

Welcome, Marieg. I'm glad you decided to join us. This is a great site to make friends and share ideas. Please post pictures on the pet pictures thread. I'm very interested in snakes. My son had them the whole time he lived at home. When he moved out, he gave us custody of them.

I'm so jealous. My husband won't have any kind of pet but a boxer. I love my boxer, but I also love snakes and any other kind of critters...except cockroaches...avoid bees because of an allergy to them. Otherwise, I'm game. One day going out to recess a boy from another class stepped on a daddy long-legs. One of my boys looked around for me and said, "Oh man, he's in trouble now!" And he was! I was always the go-to gal when we got critters in our bldg.. I've rescued snakes, lizards, squirrels, and countless bugs and spiders. :)

I'm sorry BJ, I would miss critters around me. Our office/sewing room is also the rodent/ half the snakes the room. I have a ratty named Mrs. Potts who sits watching me most of the time. As far as roaches, they aren't too bad certainly not as bad as jumbo mealy worms which are used to feed various lizards. I had a leopard gecko for two weeks, could not stand the worms gross +, traded him for a crested gecko. As wierd as it sounds I have many friends who raise roaches Dubai and Turkestan roaches, go figure. marie
