I am excited about this quilt. I worked on two of the 7 blocks today and even though they are the same block, I layed it out differently and got a totally different look. I am really trying to be creative with this quilt, but I seem to fall back on some of my favorite patterns. I chose to make each block 19 1/2 squared and plan to use the colors of each quilt I made so far for each block. The patters are not the same, but the colors are. It has become a conversational piece for now, and I can only imagine what the finished product will be. Tonight I decided to make a huge Italian flag the center of the quilt and I had to order some fabric from eQuilter.com since it suited this block perfectly. So does that count as a scrappy quilt if I ordered fabric? My stash is really low and I so desperately want to "shop" for fabric at the quilt shop in town. My wheels were spinning as I walked thru this amazing place thinking of all the stuff I need to make. I saw a Christmas Santa panel begging me to take him home. I told him I would be back on Friday.....

I have a very special project I need to make and want to make sure I get the right colors and prints; not to mention the right pattern. Taking it slow, but I am planning a french braid in some awesome colors as my "next" quilt.

Here are the pictures I promised I would post. This is going to be a quilt as you go project and I have yet to figure how that's done.

Happy quilting everyone.

Looks very interesting! Sounds like you're having a great time and enjoying the process, which is what quilting is all about, right?
