New to this board

Hi all,
I just found this site. I have been quilting for 40 years. I have discovered that the thing I like most about quilting is the actual hand quilting of the layers together. It's not a quilt till it's quilted. I have probably made close to a thousand quilted items in my life. I made my first quilt from scraps of all the garmets I made when I was in high school. I used that fat poly batting and double thread without burying the knots. I have come a long way from those days. I now do handquilting for other people. I can piece and applique but I love the actual "quilting" the most. I have learned to do satisfactory machine quilting but onlyon smaller projects like baby, Linus or chairity quilts. I reserve handquiltng for large peices and those I know will get proper care etc.
I am the program chair for two different guilds. I have managed to engage the services of a large number of quilt teachers etc. in the mid-atlantic region as lectures for my guilds. We are fortunate to have a large number of very talented quilters in our area.
The world of quilters is made up of great people.
Glad to meet all of you. My quilts are never completely perfect but I do have a reputaton for completing them in a timely mannor. Hence my knickname.
