These are coasters made from swatches of 16 different fabrics, fused temporarily, cut in little pieces, arranged on a piece of muslin, then fused as a group. With a little quilting on the collage, a little batting and fusible stablizer ... they're done. Then satin stitched around the edge. Made for a bright-color friend of mine.

Very good idea, your satin stitching is great!

What a great idea. Is there a particular type of batting or stabilizer you used since these are coasters?

They are fantastic! I don't understand the term "fused temporarily" and then "fused as a group." Can you explain exactly what you did, please?

TIA
MJ

I quilted the collage to warm and natural (just the batting on the bottom) and used double-fusible pellon "heavy weight" stablizer to fuse the puffy front to the back fabric. It's also called Inner Fuse and it's expensive
