I will check around, I think I ran across one lately. When my kids were little I used a hand towel, cut a hole in the upper 1/3 of the towel and added a stretch ribbed knit so the towel could slip over the babies heads. I don't know if they still have the ribbed knit. Used to make jogging suits for the kids. I will look for other patterns.

I googled droll bibs, pattern and there are several web sites. One is for a free pattern with some cute embrodery motifs. I was thinking aout making some of these for the great grand babies.

I don't use a pattern, I just eye-ball it. I like to use extra backing, or scraps from the front, and make matching burp cloths to match the quilts.

I had an elderly neighbor many years ago who made me some for my daughters out of was cloths. She just cut a curve on one side and then used binding for the edge and ties. These were absorbent and could be changed several times a day. :D
