I would like to know if anyone knows how to do Embroidery for a quilt with ouut using the knots on the back of the pictures. Quilterbee

My sister sent me this for baby clothes, so the knot wouldn't rub against their skin. See if it makes sense.

1. I insert the needle down into and up through the fabric again in a very small beginning stitch.
2. Then, I pull the thread up through the fabric, just enough to clear the shorter tail.
3. At that point, I have two ends of thread on the 'top', or right side, of my fabric.
4. I then unthread the needle, match the two ends of the threads together, and re-thread my needle with my (now two) threads as I normally would, leaving a shorter tail, again, of thread- this time, two shorter matched ends, just like usual. At this point, I have one stitch-one thread thick, through my fabr ic, and two threads in my needle.
5. I simply take another tiny stitch at the beginning of the work, and the thread is now secured into the fabric without any knots at all!

I do counted cross stitch and this is how I avoid knots. Take your length of thread and fold in half, matching ends evenly. Now, grasp your length of thread at the fold, wet if necessary to make it stick together. Insert folded end into needle, pull thread thru needle leaving folded end as your tail. Now, insert needle thru back of fabric, pull threads thru, leaving loop of folded end at back of fabric, make your stitch and bring needle to back of fabric, pick up loop of thread on your needle and pull thru to tighten. You know have a knotless knot. I wish I could just show you, it's very simple.
