Hi my name is Suzy and I have been quilting on and off for about 10 years now. I just finished a quilt from the Quiltville site, called strip twist. It was an easy fund quilt to do - I used bright colors in mine. I am raffling the quilt off for charity - an animal rescue that takes in pets and finds them their forever home.

I am looking for my next quilting project. A quilt pattern has to "talk" to me in order to start. I am thinking about the turkey track block but with the small triangles in the corner I am thinking maybe it would be better to paper piece the corners - any thoughts? Also would you know any where on the web were I could print the pattern?

Hmmmm, I have Marsha McCloskey's book and her turkey track block is different. I think I will stick with Marsha's block and just try piecing without foundation paper.

Thanks for the help and I really enjoy this site!!!

Hi and welcome from Texas. Glad you joined with us and good luck on your next project. Got any pics of the Strip Twist quilt? I'd love to see it.

This is really sad but I don't have any pictures of any of the quilts I have made over the years. I don't even know how many I have done because there are so many baby quilts, graduation quilts, just because quilts, etc. The only quilt I have is the first one I made. Looking at it now I just laugh because I thought the colors were so good at the time. I will take a picture of the one I just finished - I guess maybe I should start taking pictures and keeping a scrapbook of them???

My view of quilts is like spaghetti sauce and potato salad, no matter how well you plan they just grow on their own and they end up much larger than expected

Welcome! Perhaps you should show us what this Turkey Track block looks like?

The pattern I saw looks very similiar to this. The other links above looked like what she called Rose Bud.

Anyhoo - I picked a different pattern. I am going to take a stab at creating my own quilt layout - wish me luck!!
