The first time I did my binding was to cut 2 1/2 in. strips. fold them in half and iron them ( short sides ) then take one short side bring to middle line and iron then do it to the other side. Then unfold one side and sew to the quilt top (right sides facing) start at bottom (long side) and work up working it around. Have to sew the back by hand.

quilter r, are you giving instructions for a single fold binding?
I always start my double fold binding in the middle of the bottom of the quilt, then it doesn't look so obvious. I'm pracicing ending it with the angle, it makes it less bulky.
Every single time I do the ending I have to get out my quilting book, less I'll alway sew at the wrong angle!!
