I am leaving on Friday from Dallas, TX headed for Geneva, Illinois, which is about an hour west of Chicago. I am looking for awesome quilt shops to visit along the way (these will be my rest/exercise stops). I am going on US 75 from Dallas thru OK, then on I44 thru Joplin. I go on I55 to Springfield, MO, St. Louis, on to Springfield, IL, then thru Bloomington, IL. I plan to stop just south of St. Louis for the night. Any and all suggestions would be very welcome. And thanks to all of you for lots of hours of pleasure from the board.

Paducah KY is awsome, but a little out of the way from the route you planned. It is just south of the Kentucky/Illinois border, right on the Ohio River. There is a well known Quilt Museum there and also Hancocks is a SUPER great quilt store.

I know there's one in Joplin, not sure were.
My MIL goes there. I tried calling her, but no answer.
Maybe Google quilt shops in the areas that you will be traveling thru?

The Quilted Fox in the St. Louis area has a terrific selection of Oriental fabrics!

And I've heard that there is a fabulous quilt shop in Springfield, MO.....not been there but it is near the Bass Pro Shop.
