Has anyone ever made a quillow? How did it turn out? Anything you would have done differently?

I've made a ton of them.... the best advice is to take a few min to plan the cuttingout of your pocket so that it lines up with the pattern on the fabric... the first few I did, I missed this part...

My first quilt was a quillow and it turned out fine. The only thing I would change is I left the quillow pocket until last and ran out of some fabrics so was restricted what pattern I could do.

I made only one and if I could do it over I sure as heck wouldnt have used the forest green I used on it. But that was the only fabric that I had enough of to make one. And I used a pillow panel for the pocket. It turned out cute just don't like that green.

When you fold the quilt into the pillow does it actually look like a pillow or is it real thin?

My DD and SIL each have one (made by his mother), and they are very cute. And fairly fluffy, not flat.

Mine isn't very plump, but I used cotton wadding and it's heavily quilted.

I made 30 back in the 80's. I got to where I used purchased quilted fabric and a regular piece of fabric. It was a lot easier to put together. That was before I was into quilting:)

Only mistake I made was using flannel and not making the pillow just a bit bigger because it was a pain to stuff...also use thin batting or you'll have the same problem with cotton fabric.
