My mother doesn't seem to be able to apply the gel, so she does the coloring and my sister and I apply the gel. We only do that to the squares she wants or ones that are really done well or will be quilted. She can make 3-4 a day on one of her good days. We probably have 150 by now. I've added borders to several of her blocks and quilted them into 18" x 18" quilts.

lots2do, the fun part is seeing the colors blend and become more vibrant when brushing on the gel. I hope your relative is able to do that.

Jane, thank you again for sharing how you set things up for your Mom. What a blessing you and your sister are to her. I live about 10 hours from my Mom but one of my sisters just moved to the same town where my folks are. And, she is artistic. I will get these supplies together for her to work with my Mom. It will be so wonderful. I can't thank you enough, really. :-D

This quilt looks very much like Judi Dains in her "Bold and Beautiful" book, artful qui,ts from just one fabric.

Beautiful work. At a local quilt store they had a miniature quilt with little Sun Bonnet Sues and instead of appliqueing all the little pieces. They outlined the S.B.Sue and then colored in all the "pieces" - hat, dress, shoes etc. Sure had me fooled. Looked like it was appliqued.

Jane, Thanks so much for the consolidated list of references. I have been following this thread and want to give it a try as soon as I have some time. Now I can find a great list of resources.
