Hope you have a great time. Be sure to bring your warm clothes! :lol: I would love to help you, but I am TERRIFIED of Seattle. I drive the extra hour to go to Portland instead! If you can talk your daughter into a day trip to Portland, they have a WONDERFUL store there-Fabric Depot. I can literally spend hours and hours there. They have a website too-not all of their fabric is listed. In fact, you can put an order in now (with the sale) and pick it up while you're here-no shipping! Hope you enjoy your trip-I'll be heading your way in a couple of months!

Here is a link to the Shop Hop that just happened in the Great State of Washington. I am brand to quilting and have never been to any of them except for a long time ago with my Grandmother to The Quilt Barn in Puyallup, WA. They have since changed locations and I hear it is GREAT! I will be checking it out this week.

Not familiar with Seattle's quilt shops, but if you have access to a car you might consider taking the ferry to the Kitsap Peninsula. There is a wonderful quilt shop in Kingston, where one ferry docks, then a few miles from there is Quilted Strait in Port Gamble, which is one of my favorite quilt shops. There is also a nice shop in Poulsbo and Material Girls in Silverdale. That would make a nice day trip from Seattle.

Wow! Thanks for the list. I've lived here all my life and hadn't a clue! I'll have to go check some of those stores out south of King County. What fun!

Gathering Fabric

Quiltworks is big and they also have a large section of Bernina's and beads.

Keepsake is my favorite. They are very down to earth and they are located in the Country Village which has many unique shops. Just watch out for the chickens =0)

I have only been to Gathering Fabrics once but she has a good selection. Elenor Burns had just visited there when I stopped in.

Oh Western WA, how I love and hate it. :) It was home for nearly 22 years, and all my family is there, so part of my heart will always reside in that wet and soggy place. On the other hand, how amazing is San Antonio?! (that's rhetorical ;) ) You are lucky to call it home!

I haven't done any fabric shopping while I was in WA but I have ordered from a really great shop in Mukilteo called Seawatch Fabrics. They specialize in batiks and Asian prints. I made a fairly large order with them a couple months back and I can't even begin to say enough good things about the fabric and the service. I would love to see their store.
