Here are some of the fidget quilts that I asked for ideas on items to put on them. You gave me a lot of ideas and one of our board members volunteered to help make the quilts.
Thanks for all your great ideas and the residents were very pleased with them.

I made up a fidget purse for my mother while she was in the early to mid stages of Alzheimers. She carried it with her and would mess around with the things inside and it kept her from getting into others things, etc.

Is the quilt the same idea?

They are for people with Alzheimer that keep their hands or fingers moving all the time. This gives them something to touch, zip and unzip zippers, do and undo buttons, finger soft fabric or play with a cord, etc.

Yes it is. I never thought of a purse with small objects in it. One of the quilts has a small bear in the pocket and the bear is attached to the quilt so it won't get lost.

I read somewhere that a gal was making these in an apron style so that they could be tied around the waist of the recipient and not interfere with wheelchair wheels, etc. Also remember that if these are going to a nursing facility, they must be washable.

Wonderful idea!
