I am looking for ideas for quilts using fabric panels. I have several and never can seem to be creative in designing a big quilt from them. i would love to see pictures of some you all have done or any ideas you all may have.

    thanks,
    Rae

I have used matching or contrasting fabrics to add different sized borders to the panels. They make great wall hangings. To make a bigger quilt, just add more strips. Hope this helps you. I am sure you will get a lot more help

Here is one I made for a friend. It's for her baby boy.

Please ignore my doggie. He wants to be in all the pics.

I'm sorry I don't have a picture, but I used a Disney Princess panel added 4 borders in colors found in the panel, then fussy cut some princess fabric with several of the disney princesses into diamond blocks and staggered those with a purple glitter solid for the final border. My granddaughter just loves her quilt. I call her my pumpkin pie and so named the quilt "Pumpkin Pie's Princesses". Added "Made with Much Love for Skyler from Mema" with the month and year on the Quilt label. Just be creative!

If you check the Northcott web site, Patty Carey one of their designers has designed many free patterns using panels. She's great at adding extra sashings and strips to flush out pre-printed panels to large quilts.

There's some good ideas in this book. http://www.amazon.com/Clever-Quilts-.../dp/1564774465

If you can't find one to buy, check out your local library.

I made a children's quilt using panel material and coordinating fabric for my church women's group. It was fun to do.
