My sewing room has only one window..so my fabric is not exposed to the sunlight..I am hoping by having my fabric where I can see it I will start using it ..instead of buying more..we will see..

I like that idea...seeing what I have and can give you ideas on what to use it in. I keep telling myself I am going to use what I have and not buy anymore till get my stash down, but can't seem to hold to it. Went to buy some denim for a dog bed cover and came out with 3 other pieces of fabric plus the denim. I may try and do the folding pieces and put them in the drawers. Hopefully that will give me more room and I can see what I have.

Me too, I only have one window. And sometimes I just have to pull up the blind since we have such a lovely vista! Little by little it will all come to fruition and you will loe what you see! I promise

i just wanted to let you know that i did this too my material asap after reading this tut!!! it is amazing how much faster i am able to find what i want, how much more fun it is too browse through the closet, and what a god send my husband has found this because i (or so he thinks) am spending less on fabric b/c i can easily see what i have to fit a project. also, i am teaching my 8 y/o daughter to sew/quilt. it is easier for her to find what she is looking for and i don't end up cleaning up a huge mess after she has shuffled through the stash. a million thanks for this wonderful tut!!!!

Did you just buy the new shelves? What kind and where did you get them from? They look nice!
