Dryer sheets are thin fiber sheets that have scents and static control on them that go in the dryer so your clothes come out smelling nice and without static cling. You can reuse them for sewing scraps onto them like a foundation square. You can also reuse them to sew around simple appliqués, cut a slit in the dryer sheet and tu4n the appliqué right side out.

Thanks Tartan, I have never come across dryer sheets have never heard anyone talk about any thing like them. I do not have a clothes dryer , there is no need for one with our weather summer or winter , but in saying that young family's with children find them handy when we have three or more days of rain. When I go shopping next I will see if I can find anything like them

I've just started making these blocks. The tutorial is perfect. I've made four blocks already, and I've spent the past hour or so cutting strips from scraps. I plan to make a few blocks at at time, between other projects. Thank you again for posting this tutorial!

I can hardly wait to get started on mine. I will do it as a leader-ender project.

I would like to make this, but mine will have different blocks. I will take half of the center triangle with added seam allowance, add white strips to one side, then add another half of triangle on the other end. The next block is just like that, but with dark strips. When these blocks are put together, they will have no seams in the striped areas.

I love the look of this. I think I'll have to start saving strings....but it will be so worth it!
