Here is an Advent Calendar wall hanging that I dreamed up from a pretty charm pack. I am sharing this to inspire you to try your own. No pattern, just putting it together step-by-step. This one is intended to hang on a door. I will fill it with candy, cosmetics, gift cards, etc.

Lay out 6 rows of 4 squares. I mixed mine up. NBD

Sew each row of 4 together. Hem the top and add a 2 1/2" strip on the bottom.

Lay our your 6 strips on a lining. My borders are about 1 1/2 " after overlapping

Sew the horizontal rows which form the bottom of each little pocket.

Sew the vertical rows, completing each pocket.

Trim the sides and add a border, My green strips are all 2 1/'2"wide. I used most of a 1/2 yard for the borders.

I want the bows on each box to be about the same size. I tie them this way.

Each box-pocket will look like a gift. Now for backing & binding. I'm not adding batting, because it will be too heavy (loaded w gifts!) I'll post a photo when it is done.

what fun you'll have at your house picking pocket - thanks for sharing. I like the way you tied your bows ~ could have used that hint last summer for a wedding guest seating board I made for my daughter!!

I usually just lurk on this website (too timid to post anything), but I must ask how you plan on this becoming a wall hanging? How will you hang it??

I'll put a hanging tube on the back and hang it on the door with a curtain rod. This is for my younger daughter. When she gets home from her very stressful job, she'll get a present.
If it gets too heavy I can fill one week at a time.
