To stitch down my inserts on my sunflower center, I started on the corner where the insert next to it will overlay. I started with a back stitch and ended with a back stitch and cut off the threads. The thread ends will be hidden when I stitch down the next one. The only threads I knotted and buried were on the last insert.[ATTACH=CONFIG]555013[/ATTACH]

Here is the center stitched in. I put a piece of quilt batt under the brown when I pre quilted the circle and it made it a bit bulky in the middle. If I had to do it again, I would leave the batt off.[ATTACH=CONFIG]555014[/ATTACH]

I was wondering why you were sewing through your cutting mat in the first picture above. Then I realized it was the center fabric not a cutting board. Duh..... lol
