Another Five Easy Pieces Quilt
What a wonderful quilt pattern and a great tutorial! Thank you, Jeanne S., for writing this tutorial.
I make quilts for the House of Hope for women in Gainesville, Florida, and this pattern is just what I need to speed up my process to make a quilt for every woman at the House.
I really like Jeanne's method for sewing the sashing. I had never seen this method, but now I will use it for all my quilts with sashing. So much easier than sewing long strips of sashing and more accurate, too.
I make quilts for the House of Hope for women in Gainesville, Florida, and this pattern is just what I need to speed up my process to make a quilt for every woman at the House.

Jeanne, I am so happy I came across your tutorial ... I am planning to make a sofa quilt for our grandson ( he just purchased his first house) I am thinking this would be perfect in masculine colors for him.

Five Easy Pieces Charity Quilt in Pink and Brown
This is the first quilt I made using Jeanne S.'s Five Easy Pieces pattern. The quilt is, indeed, easy to make -- it has fewer than a gazillion pieces for this twin size, and I love that. I went through my small stash and decided to get rid of the browns that I never use, and added pinks for a more feminine touch.
I cut the sashing pieces wrong, thus I had to add cornerstones to the sashing. My mistake. It looks okay, but it added more work, and Jeanne S.'s directions are much easier. I will learn to check the directions BEFORE cutting next time.
This quilt is now being used by a lady at the House of Hope in Gainesville, Florida. The House of Hope is a faith-based initiative, and, therefore, depends on community support. I "adopted" the House and decided to make quilts for as many of the ladies as my Bernina and APQS longarm can turn out. This pattern is wonderful and is helping me reach that goal. As each resident leaves the program, she takes her quilt with her, so there is a never-ending need for more quilts. I must keep piecing!

MomtoBostonTerriers, I absolutely LOVE your brown and pink quilt!! I already loved Jeanne's pattern and have used it several times, but your fabrics really made it shine. I would move into that facility if it would net me a quilt like that!! Just kidding, but some lucky lady is going to have a wonderful quilt.
