How to make an Arrowhead block

Here it finally is. I did get approval from Patricj first as this is not an original design by me.
We will be transforming a D4P into an arrowhead.
My sewing and cutting have been terrible for the last 2 days so please for give the sloppiness of my seam alignment. I had to do this twice because I just couldn't get it together properly.
Please be patient as I load the pictures and give instructions.
Please feel free to ask questions but please don't ask me how many blocks or how much fabric you will need to make certain size quilts. I am the kind of quilter that doesn't follow patterns I just start sewing blocks and stop when I think I have enough.
Remember do not limit yourself to the sizes I use. you can make the blocks any sizes you want. I used these sizes just for this tutorial using scraps.

choose 4 pieces of fabric to work with. These are 4 1/2 in SQ's.

Sew 2 blocks together and press the seams to the dark side. You can press the seams open if you wish.

Now when you are ready to sew the these together to make the 4 patch start sewing 1 in before the seam line to 1in after open to see if the seams match up.

Open the SQ's to see if the seams match then continue sewing the bolcks togehter

I used a 2in ruler to cute the first center as shown.

You should have this after the first cut

Now align your ruler up the other direction and cut

After the 1st. 2 cuts you get this.

Now turn the 4 2pc. strips to get this layout.

Now start sewing the rows together to get the D4P (Disappearing 4 Patch).

Here is the last step to make the arrowhead. Using a SQ templet line the corners of the templet up with the middle seams> I used an arrow to show what I mean. Now cut the arrowhead out.

If you don't like waste then here is a suggestion on what to do with the left overs. I meant to show 2 different colors here. Sew them together then cut HST's (half squared triangles) out of them. Now the waste is at a minimal. I hope everyone enjoys this tut. I know it was long but I didn't want to miss any of the steps.
