I did this without my walking foot...just a regular pressure foot. It is important though to check your tension! It may have to be adjusted. I found that the thread was too loose initially on the back side and the tension had to be adjusted.

Just to let you know it was moved back to tutorials. Hopefully you can figure out how to build up your walls. It's important that you lift the base on the left side of the needle and keep it up in that position the entire time you are sewing. You can't let it down or it will flatten on you and you'll lose your shape. I highly recommend the book by Susan Breier, "It's a Wrap" because her instructions are very clear and helpful as to how to make these.

Thanks for the great tute! I have the book I just haven't done one yet. If I made coasters or placemats, do you think they could get washed?

I believe you can spot clean them but I wouldn't recommend washing them in the machine. I think they would lose their shape. The author does say that if spot cleaning doesn't work you can hand wash it in cool water with a gentle detergent and then rinse thoroughly. Air-dry after reshaping. Also, avoid placing the fabric projects in sunlight because they will fade over time.

Oh, I'm putting this on my list of todo's. Thanks so much for the tut. When I saw your basket the other day, I was hoping you'd put a tut on here. Thanks.
