That is going to be a beautiful quilt and you make it look so easy! Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

Geri- go to the pattern link that Rosy gives in the first post above and then scroll to post no. 17. There is a link there.
thanks - found the pattern and have printed it out....
Now my question to Rosyhf........the template pattern shows this block is then squared off with the corner curves..is that correct and then the now square blocks are joined together....whereas the hand quilted site--forgot the name just shows adding peels and centers along the way????? I see the templates are from EQ5-is that correct...I have that version..never thought to look there.......thanks all........love that this can be machine pieced.......hand piecing is not my fav thing to do, actually avoid it like the plague!!!!!

Yes Geri, it is an EQ block. You can square the blocks but I prefer to just leave the edges round. I have another way of putting these together in my head. I will see if it's going to work.

Oh my how did you know I needed a tutorial on this block. I just decided a couple of days ago to make this. I saw a wall hanging on pintrest with it and just need to make it. Thank you so much. I was going to figure it out myself and you have done all of the work for me. Thank you so much.

I wasn’t going to work on this quilt too long as I had some other stuff planned. I figured if I made the block larger, I could just do enough blocks to show the process of putting the quilt together. I have a fair idea but won’t know until I try it lol.

So far I have enlarged the block to 18 inches and I love it!! In EQ, it gives you about 14 pieces that you don’t need. So I clicked on the delete button and then clicked on the patches and clicked delete on the keyboard and you can get rid of all the extra patches and just print the two that you need.
The first block came out ok. I say ok because I am not pleased with the way the points came out, but I will rip those a bit and fix later. In the meantime, I did another block and just did the middle petals, as I didn’t know yet how the set up will go.
I joined that block to the outside petal of the first block and then I could see that I could sew five petal on and just leave the one joining without. I will continue with two more blocks in a row, the same way.
Then on the second row, I will work that out when I come to it.
Here is a pic of the first large block, then with the second block and then the second block joined to the first and the extra petals added. I just layed them up there.

Rosy-

I love the look of this block and can't wait to try it! Sewing curves is something that I'm not very experienced at, so I'm thinking that the 18" version would be better for me to start with. May I ask how you enlarged it to that size?

Thanks for taking the time to post this tutorial for us.
