Thank you for the wonderful instructions and the pics. Now I understand how to do this stitch. I love hand applique and will try it on my next one. The pics were very helpful, thanks for taking the time and sharing with us.

I'm still not understanding. I guess I'm just slow this evening. I get the first picture, I think. I have sewn by binding to the front of my quilt and I have run the needle through the edge of it leaving a tail between the layers of the quilt. The 2nd picture is the one i don't get, is the blue thread suppose to be between the layers also and you just had it on top so we could see? I think it's a super idea if I can just understand where to stitch and how. Thanks
