I've wondered that same thing. I think you could go a little larger, maybe 10" or so, but I don't think I would go much bigger than that. I would be worried about that window fabric being larger and not being quilted in the middle might look kind of loose if you get it too big.

Here's one more pic that I wanted to post to this tutorial. It shows how it looks when the two rows of blocks are joined together. As you can see, when you join two rows it creates another set of windows over the joint between the two rows of blocks.

Great lessons, Eddie! Did you have any batting in the block? Or will it be heavy enough without it? The CW is on my "To-Do" list too. Thanks for sharing.

thank you so much for this tutorial. I am sure I will try it one day just because of you.
Did you ever think of putting on a piece of batting before turning the fabric inside out? Do you know what I mean? Just to make a warmer softer blanket?

This will be the pattern for a new mantel scarf - a small item but a good learning project.

Don't quite know where the alternate color comes in to play - will work on it.

Eddie, Great lesson, like someone else said it is clear enough that even a beginner should be able to do. I had seen pictures and wondered how it was done, now I know. I will sure try it as soon as I get finished with some others.
Thank you so much and also the pictures were great.
