So many requests for how I made the mug rug......Here's some instructions. Let me know if they don't work...

Mug Mat

Cut 2 pieces of fabric 5 ½” x 7 ½”
Cut 1 contrasting fabric (#1) 8” x 4 ½”
Cut 1 contrasting fabric (#2) 4” x 3 ½”
Cut 1 batting 5 ½” x 7 ½”

Fold contrasting # 1 in half (right side in) to make 4” x 4 ½”
Sew Ό inch on one side - turn right side out. Set this one on the bottom right side, matching raw edges. Sew the left side down (top stitch) from top to bottom. Now tuck in a bag of tea……mark a line from top to bottom on the left side of the bag. Sew from top of the Contrasting #1 to bottom (this makes to slot for the spoon). Now tuck in the tea bag again and mark the bottom edge of the bag. Sew from the line you made that was the right side of the spoon slot out to the right side of the bag.

Fold contrasting #2 in half (right side in) to make 2” x 3 ½”
Sew Ό inch on one side -- turn right side out. Set this one on the bottom right side, matching raw edges. Sew the left side down (top stitch) from top of contrasting #1 to bottom.

Now sandwich the fabrics together like a quilt, turn inside out and topstitch around the edges. I did a quilting from top to bottom where the cup sits.
