Wow! That is an awesome. I always wanted to do one giant block as a quilt and think this may be one that I could do it with!!! Thanks for the instructions.

This is not a giant block. I saw a picture once but never could find the pattern for it, so I made my own pattern. This is just a 12" block. I only learned recently that it is usually "One Giant Block". Sorry! You'll just have to make one with 12" blocks instead! :P

This is very similar to the way quilterscache.com makes hers. Her block is a 24 inch though.

I realize it is not a giant block, however, I will possibly multiply everything for instance by 10 and I would get a 120 X 120 quilt using one carpenter's saw block. Do you think that would work? I saw Fons and Porter do that one time on a show and thought that was one way of making a complicated block super easy because you only have to complete one block and fairly fast too.

Of course I think that would work! If I can make this little pattern then I'm sure that you could make a big one. Good luck and let me know if you need any help! I love doing this kind of stuff. :P

Thanks for posting this! I love to try new blocks and this one is especially nice. Trying to enlarge it sounds like fun, too. Your work is always so nice.
