Oh, I just tried this, and it makes meandering SO much easier. Thank you, thank you for posting this tutorial! Your insight/instinct is right on!

awesome - i can't seem to get free motion quilting right. that is a good idea to draw the line so you don't get lost
and stuck . i gave up after one try but now i am going to use this method. thanks.

What a great idea. My brain won't do stippling either, so I will give this a try! I have a long arm and all I can do are pantographs because I am so afraid to fmq and get stuck or make a mistake on the quilt.

I am the same we must use the other side of the brain. I love to stipple and meandering...

I'm the exact opposite, I can do free motion stippling really well, bit it's the others that I have trouble with... I know I need to practice!
