Yes, I would draw the first line over the entire quilt top so I'd have a path to follow all the way.

thanks for this tut. i've struggled with stiippling, too. i may be able to do better with this method

I do pot holders for a senior center and am going to try your method. Will try using an iron off marker. Think this will make a great improvement in my production. Also thinking I will try doing a double size piece and then cut to size and bind. Thanks for this handy tutorial.

Brilliant-- I used chalk and away I went... no more stuck spots-- thanks ever so much! cheers from -30 Canada-- is a stitching day -- not even remotely interested in our usual snow machine tours on the weekends-- nope nope nope--- even if it has to be scrappy pot holders-- inside for me-- and meandering nowwwww

I get stuck in the middle. It's so sad. But now, I can see a way out. Thank you so much for sharing. I thought I was going to be stipple free for life

Isn't it strange how we differ in our skill set? Meandering has always come naturally to me but I have difficulty in feathers. Now if someone could teach me that I would be thrilled.
