Most of the beautiest quilts start with a simple square of fabric. I've found a pile of soft-colored fabrics And i cut it into.... correct: into squares:

Take two of them and sew:

Now we need a contrasting fabric. I choose (chose? :shock: ) a deep dark chocolate-soft brown. And I cut it into.... na? Na? Squares!!!! :D

"Cut 'n sew" is the mantra of a quilter... so do i.
*mumble* "cut n sew, cut n sew cut n sew..." |

Now we need some complete squares of our fabric-pile an some of the chocolat... and of course: our sewn-Triangel-square-Whatever

And what want we do with a ninepatch? Correct: Cut n sew! Cut n sew! |

I recently found a pile of leftover triangles that i’m adding another triangle to for half square triangles. When i’m Done getting them sewn into squares i’ll Lay them out to see what I can do with them. Like your layout. Thanks for the encouragement to ke sewing my scraps. Thanks for the tutorial!

Now we need two sets of four single-blocks and.... sashings with cornerstones! :p |

And now we add the blocks to our centerblock and sew a bigger dark sashing around:

At last we close the ugly holes in the top. with little appliques like this:

Now it's ready to rumble....ah, no, to sandwich and quilt! :D
