Another tut for Bow Tuck with zipper.

9 Attachment(s)
Step 1 - Make the Bow Tuck like the pattern except don't add button or loop
Step 2 - Pencil mark between the outside of the handles on the lining part about 1-1.5" from purse top(can vary)
Step 3 - Cut 2 -3" pieces the length of the zipper, fold in half and press then open and fold down raw edges and press.
Step 4 - I dot with glue before I sew in the zipper.
Step 5 - The length of the zipper is the length between the outside of the handles then add about 3". You will have
to cut the zipper length first then put the ends on. Cut end pieces about 3 x 5 and sew on both end. I used
a different color so it wouldn't show inside.
Step 6 - Sew on pencil line you made in step 2 and not any longer than the line.
Step 7 - This is the hardest part. Open zipper and stitch the other side of the zipper from the inside. It is a little tight
getting in there but you can do it!
Step 8 - Make sure your ties are untied, then stuff the 2 ends inside the purse.
Step 9 - Then hand stitch the 2 ends inside the purse. Then tie bows.
Step 10 - Add the loop and your done.....yippee!

I hope it's understandable....

What great instructions and pictures. Looks easy when you do it. I'll have to try it on my next bow tuck. Looks like you used a heavy duty zipper. Would love to know exactly which one. Thank you.

Not sure what kind of zipper. I found 3 of them in my stash. I am sure you can find one at fabric store.

I was thinking a zipper was needed in the Bow Tuck I made. Thanks for sharing the how-to, I'll try that on the next one I make.

Thank you for the instructions. I am going to add a zipper to my bow tuck. I like more security with my purse. Open tops are not good when your purse falls over as mine did on the airplane. I was fortunate, not much came out, but could have been very embarassing.

Thanks so much for the instructions. I really like the idea of a zipper instead so things don't fall out.
