This tutorial is now is PDF. format. It's from Donna's original post with a picture of her ancestors with a log cabin quilt hanging in the background. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t184422.html

Thanks to several members for putting this into pdf. format for us.

How unique. Even though I could only download the Word version, it saved easily. Thank you so much for this!

Many thanks--saved it to my computer for future use.

The posting is not in pdf but in a doc format. I do not have microsoft word so cannot download this. I'm curious as to why you advised it was pdf but not posted as such. thanks!!!

Thanks so much, Jan and others! I have a wonderful article somewhere about using quilts as backdrops "back in the day".

Thank you for this post and especially in the pdf format. My small quilt group members are all making log cabin quilts for our next show. We hope to illustrate the various interpretations of the pattern. I will show this to the other members who are looking for new ideas.

Jan, thank you very much for taking the time to post this awesome pattern from days gone by. What a keeper. :)

Wow! I'm SO glad this tute of Donna's family quilt has been such a hit for everyone!

It was a challenge to figure out at first, but then I realized it was "just another log cabin variation" and I was off and running. Can't wait to make it myself!

I do hope all of you will share your quilts at some point.
