Did I miss it somewhere. What width are the two (6 1/2" x ?)
pieces that you sew onto the square in the 1st step? Thanks

Thanks a lot for the great tute. I am really fond of this pattern but I have never given it a try because it seemed a little bit to difficult to me. Thanks for the terrific step by step instruction.

The two strips are 2 x 6 1/2 and 2 x 8.

As I see it she framed two squares then cut them in half diagonally to make 2 triangles and then picks two different triangles to sew back together into a square. It may look confusing because one of the pictures showing the progress is after only sewing the sashing on 2 sides so it looks like a rectangle.

I hope I haven't made it more confusing for you.
