Thank you so much Lanny. I hope I find the answer to a question I asked, but no one answered.

so what are these downloads? I really don't want to download something unless I know what it is.

SandyMac 04-23-2011 04:13 AM

Thanks so much .

They are information in the Microsoft Word format concerning all things embroidery. Good for you being leery of opening strange items. These won't harm your computer.

Thanks Lanny, I needed a good basic information thingy on embroidery machines needles and the like.

Very useful. Thank you. On the same topic, I just saw that www.embroiderydesigns.com is having a $1.99 sale. Lots of Sunbonnet Sue designs.

My question that no one responded to is this: I bought a design pack of quilting designs. I have a Baby Lock Sofia 2 with a 4x4 hoop. Wondering if I need to hoop individual QAYG sqaures to uses these or if there is a way to use them without the hoop.

lllog 04-23-2011 06:27 AM

They are on various emb subjects, i.e. hooping, needles, etc..

They're Word docs.

Generally speaking, you need to hoop them.

Being new to machine embroidery I really appreciate you posting these. I am sure it will help me to learn more.

I just searched through all the embroidery posts on this forum and came across www.bunnycup.com They are offering tons of free retired design sets. I spent hours downloading! In order to show my gratitude I purchased a couple of sets only to find that during April, it's Buy One Get One Free! Wow! Happy, happy, happy!

I am glad you started this thread, I have a question, I am new to this I just purchased a Janome 10001 a friend of mine that has been embroidering for a long time showed me how to set up the hoop my question is do you always have to do a top layer over the material and when would'nt you have to and what is the purpose of doing the plastic over the top of the material? I am anxious to hear your replys

I was unable to see what you had to show us. But I have a problem with cotton. I had tried to do the YAYASistersbestfriends embroidery pattern. some of the embroidery cottons kept breaking which is a pain considering it takes over 90 minutes actual sewing time. Is there a better brand than others to use or should they all work OK and I have some bad cottons.

Hi Sharon,

I attended a demonstration last year and the demonstrator said we should use a layer over all embroidery, but she was trying to sell her product.
I have never used a layer on top except for towels. In agreement with the demonstrator I use one on the back as well as the front for towels.
