Disappearing Hourglass 12 and 1/2

Hopefully I will try to load these in order. First picture, cut 2 -10 and 1/2 inch contrasting squares. Sew them one on top of the other with a 1/4 inch seam all around the outside. Cut on the diagonal to form 4 pieces.

Iron the squares open and they should measure 7 inches square. If necessary trim but use your ruler on the 45* degree line on the seam.

Arrange the squares into the Hourglass block.

Sew the block together and it should measure 13 and 1/2 inches

Cut the block into a 9 Patch with the squares measuring 4 and 1/2 inches each.

Shuffle into new block and sew.

The block should measure at 12 and 1/2 inches and look like this
