I don't have Microsoft Office on my computer, either. We use Open Office. In order to look at Jan's file, I needed to right click on her Word document link (above) then chose "Save Target As" with a left click. Then I chose where I wanted to save the file on my computer and added the extension ".sxw" after the title, which is what Open Office uses for text documents. You will need to use whatever extension YOUR text program uses. Then just click "Save". Then I can open the document in Open Office and read it.

Hope that this helps you!

I love log cabins and all the variations. My bucket list contains a slip that I'll make all the variations I can find. :)

I made your file into a PDF so those who can't open your file have a chance to see it.

Here is a tutorial for the very interesting log cabin quilt seen in Donna's post http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t184422.html

Read the topic to see the vintage photo of her ancestors and their quilt.

OK.....I'm confused as to why you would sew pieces together, then cut them apart???
