Same here, but I've followed your progress & wondered how you did it. What a neat idea- thanks for sharing. Wondering what method of QAYG you are using to join your blocks?

Katiedid2 01-13-2014 03:20 PM

I search different sites on joining blocks... what I do not everyone would like... lots of handwork.

lfstamper 01-13-2014 03:31 PM

Beautiful tutorial! You have a lot of patience to figure all this out.

wolph33 01-13-2014 04:16 PM

that looks great thanks for showing us how you did it

Jingle 01-14-2014 05:22 AM

I don't have an embroidery machine, but I love to learn how things are made. You are doing a wonderful job.

TGood 01-14-2014 05:34 AM

Question

What size hoop are you using? Your quilt is a fantastic way to use scraps. Thanks for sharing.

misskitty5 01-14-2014 06:56 AM

Very nicely done. It looks like that is the 8 x 8 hoop. Wish it were available for the 6 x 6 which I understand is really too small for such an adventure. You did an excellent job and it will be fantastic when completed.

mjhaess 01-14-2014 07:15 AM

Thanks for the tutorial...loved it.....

Katiedid2 01-14-2014 08:26 AM

my hoop is 8 x 8 square for Janome 11000

Katiedid2 01-14-2014 08:56 AM

you could change hoop size and do this design... send me message if you would like to have it... 6 x 6 would just be smaller scrap pieces....I think it would be pretty.

juliea9967 01-15-2014 06:02 AM

Oh! I have an embroidery machine with an 8" x 8" hoop and would love to try this. I would be more than willing to pay for your digitizing. It is beautiful!

Charming 01-17-2014 10:45 PM

I would love to have this pattern as I have the 8x8 hoop. Can you show a pic of a full block joined pls? what kind of stabilizer did you use?

leatheflea 01-18-2014 02:23 AM

Oh my that is cute, the border stitches are too cute!

MaureenT 01-18-2014 04:31 AM

Great Tute...and so beautiful!

I use "no show mesh" stabilizer. 4 blocks sewn together for one large block little over 14 in. ( give or take)

Charming 01-18-2014 03:29 PM

Thank you so much for posting the pic. It is very pretty. Is all the stitching showing done by the embroidery? did you do any quilting to the block afterwards?

Katiedid2 01-18-2014 04:29 PM

it is "quilt as you go" method so each section is quilted in the last steps... then sew 4 sections together for the bigger block

TGood 01-19-2014 05:07 AM

Could you show us how you sew the sections together? I am intrigued...

Katiedid2 01-19-2014 09:02 AM

There are lots of different methods to join the blocks... I google for "join QYG blocks" the method I use requires a lot of hand stitching.... which I like to do.. the back of my quilt isn't very neat but it works for me. I will try to download pic of how I did it.

this is beautiful. I have a janome 300E, largest hoop size is 5 x 7....would it work for me? I use the jef format...and are you sharing the design or selling it?

Katiedid2 01-20-2014 05:54 PM

If I sent you my design please check with me before you sew it because I had sent wrong file for the block.... the nice lady let me know so I can correct if you let me know by message. sorry.

marleygal 01-20-2014 09:39 PM

Hi Katiedid2, I have a Viking Diamond with 8x8 hoop and would love to receive your wedding ring quilt design and try my hand at quilt as you go.

thseabreze 01-21-2014 06:59 AM

thank you for this..did you use wash away stabilizer?

Katiedid2 01-21-2014 08:11 AM

I use "no show mesh" it stays in block... its nice and soft.

thseabreze 01-21-2014 01:52 PM

is there a difference between the no show polymesh and just the no show mesh? And do you know if there a specific brand to use, or to stay away from? I found so many online..

Katiedid2 01-22-2014 07:48 AM

Sorry since I'm no pro I can't answer... I tried water soluble and did not like it for this quilt..it shrunk up/ puckered if I pressed block/ seams .

Thank you for the great tutorial. Unfortunately I do not have a machine with a hoop! What kind of machine do you have? It is a beautiful quilt!

Oh thank-you sooo much for the clear picture on how to do this....Give yourself a high-five, a pat on the back and a great big hug for sharing.....yeppers I know how intense digitizing can be as I'm trying to learn this with not much success....Big ole hugs out to you.

Annaj 01-30-2014 07:39 AM

What a beautiful Quilt block. Wish I could digitize but don't have any software for it. Just cost too much. Would you be willing to share or sell me the design? Would love to try this. I have an 8x8 hoop and use VP3 format!

Katiedid2 02-01-2014 10:24 AM

Has anyone stitched the dwr out? sure would like to see pics!

JuneD 02-14-2014 05:17 AM
