Extra Toilet Paper Roll Holder

2 Attachment(s)
If you've ever been in the situation where no one else replaced the empty toilet paper roll and you didn't find out until it was too late, then this tutorial might be just what you need. :D

I'm making them to give as Christmas gifts. They are quick to make...less than an hour start to finish, are great stash busters, and you can assembly line sew them. You can customize the fabrics to match decor or go the novelty route which is what I did.

This is my first try at a tutorial but I hope you like it. I've included this in both pdf and word so hopefully you'll be able to open one or the other. They are identical.

Enjoy :)

Wow! that is a neat idea. I have a pattern where you can make a tower out of large coffee cans. I need to find it and post it here. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! This is just what I need, my poor old bunny that's been doing the job for at least 10 years needs to retire.

I don't understand

where do you put this extra roll??

Latrinka 08-19-2012 10:17 AM

Cute idea, thanks for sharing!

Such a cute little handy dandy holder. I will surely try my hand at this right soon. Thanks for sharing. Your tutorial is great.

redhawk 08-19-2012 04:34 PM

You hang the straps on the spindle on either side of the roll then pop the spindle back on it's holder. Or if you have the metal hook kind of holder, you slide one strap then the roll then the other strap.

If you make the straps too much wider they don't fit right and bunch up around the roll already on the spindle.

Very nice. I have used paper towel holders in my bathrooms. Each one holds 3 rolls. I got tired of yelling for toilet paper!!!LOL

grandme26 08-20-2012 08:47 AM

Thank you. These will make great last minute gifts.

What a great tute, I need this in my house as no one is familiar with how to work the toilet paper holder.

postal packin' mama 10-07-2012 06:55 PM

Q: how many men does it take to 'install' a fresh roll of toilet paper?
A: nobody knows -- there's no record of any man ever attempting such a tricky installation job! :D

OHSue 10-07-2012 07:39 PM

Now if someone would have a tutorial on how to get then to put the roll on the roller!

This is really easy. Take 3 large coffee cans and cut the bottom out of two of them and then stack them on top of each other and secure them to each other with tape making sure the one with the bottom still on it is on the bottom. Cover it with fabric or shelving paper and you use the coffee can lid for the top after decorating. My friend has one in her bathroom.

fabricfairy 10-09-2012 07:17 PM
