Free Heart Block Pattern to Share

3 Attachment(s)
I made a BOM for our guild, and I made a heart block.

One page is the pattern and one is the cutting instructions. Feel free to use it for your guild or quilting friends. I posted the images of the 2 possible patterns as images. If you like them, the PDF is below.

Thank you for posting the pdf. for the block. I was wondering if the middle section of the heart was for friends to sign their names?

Thank you, Johanna, for sharing your block. This is one that I will definitely use.

Your blocks are just so sweet. Thank you for sharing. I will be off to the LQS this weekend to make this as a table runner for a group of (little old ladies - 90 being the youngest), ladies that I see 3 times a week. The house mother (owner of the adult home), loves to keep it bright and is always putting out themes for each month and holiday. So thank you again.

Coopah! Looking at your kitty's photo. Beautiful triangle on it's chest. Put that photo on a grid and another pattern.

We did not do that, but it would be an excellent idea. Instead of two strips, you could cut one - adding the size of the two together - more name to sign. ****TIP: if you sign, put your block on a piece of med grit sandpaper. It will hold your block in place while you sign and the fabric will not stretch and move while you use your Micron Pen. .05 work great.

You can also cut the 4 squares that are in the upper left and right corners at the top of the blocks (upper background around the heart "curve) at 2.5" sq ea if you want a more "pointy" heart curve. I like the broader top and that is what you see.

When signing anything, I iron a strip of freezer paper to the back. Keeps the fabric from stretching, is easy to write on, keeps any ink from bleeding through to whatever your surface is; then just pull off the freezer paper when done. Then I heatset with the iron to set ink. I use the micron pen, too. This is a wonderful block!

HA! Good idea! Never thought about that! She is quite a character. As soon as the camera comes out, she's right there saying, "Me, me, me!"
