Cut 4 squares -- these are 1 1/2" square Whack of corners -- or round with scissors Stitch scant 1/4" -- be sure to backstitch on the ends. I did these on sewing machine, others I handstitched |

Fridgie flowers part two
turn the petals inside out.....heh heh - easier said than done! Use double strands of thread & do a running stitch across open end.... Pull up to tighten and "lock" the stitch on the end. |

fridgie flowers part three
All six are done!!! Lay out in pleasing fashion........ Stitch up from one petal on the "left" side (the green one) and thru to the right side of the 2nd petal...then running stitch thru to the left side of the 2nd petal |

Fridgie flowers part four ( I didn't have another yellow button -- so this ugly one is just laying there!!!!)
what it looks like after doing the above Sew all six together to look like this. Add a button - sewn or glued. Add a magnet or whatever on the back!!! You're done! |

These are very pretty. I would like to make them for our spring flower themed quilt show. I am assuming that we need to cut 6 squares of each fabric (pink and green). I am off to try one right now.
|
Thank you so much for this tutorial , I love the flowers
and will make some as soon as I get through with the quilt I'm working on now :D |
Hah -- I just realized I didn't put in how many squares!!! thanks...Yes, each petal needs 2 squares. I just made one that's all one color....so 12 squares. The combos of colors is purely up to you......and so much fun to figure out!
|
What a fun idea. I'll have to make some for mom for mother's day.
|
Thanks for the tute
|
You did a very good job on your tutorial. Maybe you have found your calling? lol I can see these sweet little flowers popping up all over. My mind is spinning now! Thanks so much!!
|
Thank you for making this tute for us :D:D:D

I tried making these from another tute using squares folded in half diagonally and stringing them up to form a flower. It seemed simple enough, then you made a yo-yo for the center. However, each time I ended up with a large hole in the center, I tried making them smaller, same results. I love this idea of using the squares and maybe if I have enough patience, I can use yo-yos for the center. Thanks amandasgramma for putting this out. :XD: :XD:

Here is my fridgie flower magnet. I used 5" charm squares, so the petals are cut to 2 1/2" each. So cute
|
awesome, thank you
|
This is so clever. thank you for sharing will bookmark this one
|
I also tried the flowers folding in half diagonally. I discovered that if I made larger stitches and fewer of them that I didn't have as a big a hole in the center.
