That is such a cute quilt. Is the top flannel? I would never have thought of minky for a rag quilt. You must have had quite a mess! And thank you for the tip -- I've not been very successful removing basting spray in the past.

I use the citris cleaner the Dollar store sells to clean lots of things. It takes driveway sealer & asphalt off, so I would think it would clean your mat & it is harmless.

Thanks for the tip. I don't spray baste on my cutting mat or in the house at all. If the weather is nice I take it out on the patio. I have a new, large, clean canvas drop cloth that I spread out on the patio. If it is rainy, I spread it out in the garage (after the cars have been backed out onto the driveway), leave the garage doors open and spread the drop cloth on the floor and spray away. I am always trying to remove sticky price labels from things. This tip will come in handy.

Another tip for removing sticky tag glue is Goo Gone, carried by most stores... But it doesn't smell as nice

I was bad lately and sprayed basting onto my place mat pieces on the ironing board. but was lucky and didnt' get any on it!! yea!!

Wonder how it would work on a gooky iron (while it's cold)? Will have to try it on one of my irons that's gooky...LOL!
