I just went through this last night, and I was afraid to cut the fabric so I left it all on until I sewed it boy I'm glad I did
because when I turned it over to look at it,my stripes were way off,I didn't think about it,so I thought there has to be an easier way to this so I did what you did so I could see what I as doing eccept I didn't think to iron it first YOU are right this is the best way at least to me,I did a good job considering it was my first attempt

Thanks so much for posting this info. It's very well done and easy to understand. I'll refer to this the next time I need to miter a corner!

Pam, Thank you so much for this tutorial. I looked at it when you first posted it. I am putting together a top and thought I would try this for the borders. The first went pretty easily. The second corner, not as smooth but ok. I want to finish the other two corners tomorrow. I will try to post pictures this weekend if I can finally figure it out! Kyia

Use Elmer's School Glue instead of pins!!! Do everything the same, turn under and press, then put a tiny line of glue along the fold. Lay it down, lines up, and press with an iron to dry the glue. Sew on the pressed line, check it afterwards, and then pop the glue line open before trimming and pressing.

Great tutorial, Pam. I am like you. I taught myself to do it this way years ago. Very easy and accurate.
