If you are interested in seeing the blocks I am making now to make this quilt, instead of just a drawing, here is the link to my current WIP.

Hi! Well, I have started making this block now so I thought I'd post some pictures. This first picture is of my half squares that I did. 4 of each color are pressed toward the dark and the other 4 pressed toward the light. That way they go together right with the seams facing the right direction.

These are my HST's, all pressed and ready

Next, I lay out the 9 patches for the corners. I get them all messed up somehow if I don't. LOL I have started sewing the 9 patches. On the right are the extra 8- 2 1/2" squares that need sewed into pairs for the Unit 1's.

My 9 patches laid out so I can start sewing them and the pairs for the Unit 1's.

I just have to show you this picture. I absolutely love the colors in this block. It is definitely my favorite so far! Don't you agree? BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

Yes, I do very much like your fabric choices, the colors in them and the way they come together.
Thank-you for doing the tutorial. Your steps are easy to relate to and follow. I enjoy the way you are teaching us.

Thank you very much. I like doing the tutorials or whatever I can to show other people how to do things. I'm a helper at heart. I'm glad that my steps are easy to understand.

Happy Quilting,
Marilyn

Here are my next steps. I am now done with the half squares and the pairs for Unit 1's. I am also done making the 9 patches. Next I made the HST's that are to the center of the block. Then we have our pairs to put in, then I need to sew the outer HST's. Then sew the 3 parts together, 4 times, to make your 4 Unit 1's.

The Inner HST's for the unit 1's

Lay out the rest of the pieces for the Unit 1's. Sew the HST's for the Outer edge. Then sew together the 3 pieces, having the pairs in between the HST's.
