Several have asked me how we made my sewing table... We used Margarita McManus' tutorial for it, and I LOVE it... She has several tutes on getting things set up correctly for better sewing and quilting, and I thought I should post a link for them....

This is what I am doing too! On vacation so have to wait until we return to finish it up but I'm really excited about this setup. I am using an antique table with the leaves that come up from the sides, very heavy and very sturdy, and the machine I'm using is a Brother 1500. I'm anxious to get it done and up and running!

I think you will be really happy with your new setup... It's just so nice having the table surface and machine all nice and even...
Show us your finished product when you get it done.... |
i used her ideas for my sewing table & it has worked out
very well. |
Thanks BrendaY,
I love this, and I am definately going to make this table. |
The link didn't work when I tried it just now.

i've made one & like it

I made one like this last year. I "remodeled" it this year and covered it with white oilcloth instead of draping it with the clear vinyl as Marguerita does. I just took each section (mine is in three pieces so it fits my table and machine and allows for bobbin access) and wrapped it as if it were a gift package and taped it securely on the bottom with duct tape. Looks nice and the oilcloth is really slick for FMQ.
Don't know if that makes sense...let me know if anyone wants to see a photo. Anita |
