Only this way the fabric/paper is the 'medium' for the photo and not just photo paper.

Look for a product "Printed Treasures" or something similiar....or make your own.

Hi! I realize the photo is on fabric - I've made a memory quilt using photos - and I know you can wash them - but, will they stand up to the wear and tear of a hot mat? In my household, food often gets spilt, and I can see them requiring lots of washing!

Yellow Bird, thank you for this great idea. It would make a wonderful motorcycle quilt. We have and have had enough bikes for a whole quilt!

My friend uses hers for a mouse pad....it actually gets more wear than a hot pad because of the movement of the mouse over the surface all the time.

The photo does fade....but I think if you use something to 'set' the colors in the fabric it will last longer.

Something like "Bubble Jet Set".

The possibilities are endless....
