lucky girl!

I know this post is a year old, but can anyone help me get the pattern to look at? I cannot open it to save my life!!! I'm not scared of the weird measurements...in fact, they kind of intrigue me. I'd just like to see what all this is about!!! Can you post a picture of a drawing of the block?

I love the new pattern you have designed good luck with the instructions. You can do it.

Help me out here. What is an Avatar pattern?

Silly girl. It's your picture under your name. Mine is my darling son.

Debra, glad you commented on this message so that I could read this thread.
I love this quilt pattern.
Did anyone get a quilt made from this pattern?

Ahhhh. Thank you! So it has the same meaning as in the computer world :-) Thought maybe it was one of those quilter terms LOL

No but it is in my to do list. I downloaded the pattern & printed it.

Barb_MO 01-24-2010 07:59 PM

I down loaded the pattern also. Will print it out and study it a bit...didn't look too hard...but of course I haven't done the studying part yet. :-)

Thank you for your instructions for gorgeous avatar quilt - I have Windows XP and didn't have any trouble downloading your instructions. I will be trying to find same colours as yours too. Thanks again

To those struggling with pattern piece sizes - Carol Doak book Easy Machine Paper Piecing states that photocopiers often increase templates by just under 1%. Carol says to trace original pattern first then take all copies from that so they will all be the same size when printed - photocopying from photocopies increases each one by that tiny amount and can throw the whole thing out. Hope this helps; however, if your prepared paper patterns fit together nicely, then stay with the size you choose and all should come out well. Old fashioned template drawing 25 years ago taught me to make any size block I need by drawing pattern on paper and using the cutouts as my template. Jinny Beyer also has excellent instructions for drafting any shape or size in her book Patchwork Patterns

As a newcomer it took me a while to figure out what 'avatar' meant and now there is a film of the same name - must look it up in the dictionary one day LOL

Please let me know how this works out, and if you're attempting the pattern, ask lots of questions! The questions you ask will help me work out what needs to be addressed in the instructions. :)

I am getting no where with this. I have Vista. I keep going back to the post.

I had no problem downloading the pattern when you first put it up and I still have no problem downloading it. I have XP. But the link did not work.

Paganquilter, what a beautiful avatar and quilt. I just got done reviewing your instructions and it looks to me as though you did a wonderful job of laying everything out.

It may be a while before I can make one for myself. But, in the meantime, I want to congratulate you on your beautiful design and exquisite colors choices and placement. I love it all, espeically the bold colors you used.

Thank you so much. :-D :-D :-D :-D
